1. Overview and Purpose

Sunrise Studios utilizes Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS / Drones) equipped with high-definition cameras during our public events. The primary purpose of these flights is to capture aerial photography, video, and crowd atmosphere footage. This media is collected solely for marketing, promotional, educational, archival, and organizational storytelling purposes (including but not limited to websites, social media, print brochures, and television broadcasts).

 

2. Types of Data Collected

While our drone pilots focus on capturing high-level overviews of the event, scenery, and production elements, the drone's payload may unintentionally or intentionally capture the following personal data:

• Visual likenesses and facial features of event attendees, staff, and vendors.

• Vehicle license plates or personal belongings visible within public transit areas or event boundaries.

• High-altitude geographic location data tied to specific event timelines.

Note: Our drones do not record audio, nor do they utilize automated facial recognition software to actively identify or track individuals in the crowd.

 

3. Implied Consent and Public Space Expectations

This event takes place in a public/semi-public venue. We provide notice of active drone operations via prominent physical signage at all main event entry points and through online ticketing terms.

• By entering the designated event perimeter, you acknowledge the presence of operating drones and grant us the right to record, edit, and publish your likeness in connection with our marketing materials.

• If you do not wish to be captured by aerial filming, please notify event staff at the registration desk, adjust your positioning away from active flight fields, or avoid areas marked with active drone operations signs.

 

4. Data Retention, Security, and Third-Party Sharing

• Security: Raw drone footage is stored securely on encrypted servers and is restricted to authorized marketing and production staff.

• Retention: We retain promotional assets indefinitely for archival purposes unless a valid deletion request is processed. Unused, raw B-roll footage that contains recognizable individuals is systematically purged within seven years of the event's conclusion.

• Sharing: We do not sell or license raw footage containing personal identifiers to third-party data brokers. Edited marketing packages may be shared with trusted media partners, sponsors, or distribution platforms for promotional use.

 

5. Your Rights and Opt-Out Process

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., CCPA, GDPR), you may have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal data. If you identify yourself in an image or video posted on our digital platforms and want it removed:

2. Provide a screenshot or link to the specific piece of media, along with your location/description at the event.

3. Upon validation, we will act promptly to obscure (blur) your face/identifying features or remove the media asset entirely from our channels.
